It was like stepping into my own personal reading nook, surrounded by the crackling fire and a library of books. It was the perfect spot to unwind and escape from the world.

We had an amazing stay at this incredible property surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy silence and nature. We loved sitting by the fabulous pool and sipping wine from their own winery. the location was also ideal, close to many cute towns. the highlight was the family-style dinners where we got to mingle with people from all over. the food was simple but good, and the breakfast was excellent too. the tennis courts were a bonus!

We got great value for our money with a charming and high-quality stay. The room was spacious and beautifully designed. The location was absolutely stunning, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, and eucalyptus trees. The staff really went above and beyond to make us feel well-taken care of.
One small thing that could have made the morning meal better was if there were more variety of options for breakfast.

They loved the opportunity to go fishing and hiking around the beautiful property. There were also tennis and table tennis facilities for them to enjoy. It was great to have these recreational amenities right at the farm stay. Our youngest child, under 4 years old, had a blast exploring the grounds and playing in the open spaces. It was a wonderful family-friendly experience and we can't wait to come back.
For dads, it would be great if there were more organized activities specifically tailored for families with children.

We booked this on a whim and it is one of my favorite places I have stayed to date. It is well off the beaten path and appeals to us for complete relaxation. The house design is stunning, with beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. The family style dinners offer traditional food and the chance to meet interesting people. The hosts are warm and provide stories and history about what you are eating, seeing, and doing. And the wine made at the vineyard is superb. We will be back!
Would recommend this hotel.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem on our journey through Portugal. The location is simply breathtaking, nestled in the beautiful Alentejo region. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep. The highlight of our stay was the warm hospitality of Miguel and Maria. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience, recommending the best places to visit in Portugal. We truly felt like we were staying with friends. The dinner and breakfast were delicious, giving us a taste of the local cuisine. While there were a few minor inconveniences, such as the lack of certain amenities and the remote location, the overall experience at Herdade Do Vau was fantastic. We cannot wait to return and explore more of this piece of paradise. I highly recommend this hotel for a unique and unforgettable stay in Portugal.
